The Aster Review accepts submissions on a rolling basis from currently enrolled high school and undergraduate students, as well as researchers worldwide. All submissions receive a substantive editorial review and written feedback, regardless of the publication decision.
Our Submission Process
Our submission process is designed to be straightforward and efficient. We encourage authors to prepare their original research and scholarly articles according to the provided guidelines. The process consists of three key steps to facilitate smooth submissions, from initial entry to final publication.

Standard track decisions are returned within 6 to 8 weeks of submission. Expedited track decisions are returned within 2 to 3 weeks. We do not exceed these windows except in rare circumstances, and we will notify you if a delay is anticipated.
Yes, authors may revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. We encourage authors to incorporate suggestions from reviewers to enhance their work. Please submit your revisions within the given timeframe outlined in our correspondence. If you receive a revise and resubmit decision, yes. If you receive a decline, you may submit a substantially revised version as a new submission, with a new submission fee. We do not consider lightly edited resubmissions of declined work.
The $15 submission fee covers editorial screening and substantive review by a qualified reviewer, including written feedback, regardless of whether your paper is accepted. If your paper is accepted, the submission fee is credited against your publication fee.
Submission fees cover the cost of editorial review, including reviewer honoraria, editorial coordination, and the platform that hosts the journal. Publication fees cover production, copyediting, hosting, and the operational cost of maintaining a long-term archive. We do not have institutional funding, so author fees support the work.
Standard publication: $300, with an editorial decision within 6 to 8 weeks. Expedited publication: $400, with an editorial decision within 2 to 3 weeks.
Both tracks receive the same level of editorial review. Expedited submissions are moved to the front of the reviewer queue, which is why the timeline is shorter.
We accept articles in various formats, including Word documents and PDF files. All documents should adhere to our formatting guidelines provided on the submission page for clarity and consistency.
Once published, authors are encouraged to share their work through their social media channels, academic networks, and personal contacts. Additionally, we provide promotional material to assist authors in spreading the word and we encourage it. Each published author receives a citable URL and a downloadable PDF of the final published version for use in applications, portfolios, and personal records.
Any student currently enrolled at the high school or undergraduate level, at any accredited institution worldwide, and researchers. Both individual and co-authored submissions are accepted, provided all listed authors meet eligibility requirements.
