Our inaugural volume is being built deliberately. We are reviewing submissions on rolling basis through this period, and we expect the first issue to include a range of work that reflects what The Aster Review intends to be: serious, varied, and genuinely useful to readers and authors alike.

Readers can expect to see:

• Original research from students who are doing real work in real fields, not exercises designed to look like research.
• Analytical essays that take a position and defend it, drawing on the relevant literature and offering something more than summary.
• Cross-disciplinary writing from authors whose questions do not respect departmental boundaries.
• Reviewer commentary alongside selected pieces, providing readers with insight into what made the work succeed and where it stretched the editorial team’s thinking.
• Author notes that situate each piece in the writer’s broader academic interests and trajectory.
